Aroon O’Brien is an internationally-renowned mathematical, theoretical, and computational physicist who now applies her skills in the world of finance.
Rather than developing math and drafting computer programs to describe nature and the laboratory, she now develops math and drafts computer programs to describe worldwide financial markets with a view to successful investment.
Dr. O’Brien holds a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Canterbury, which she was awarded along with the Dean’s Scholarship in Mathematics.
She was awarded Mathematical Tripos from Cambridge University with first place.
She is a Putnam Fellow who achieved a perfect score in the Putnam Competition.
She undertook her doctoral studies with the Max Planck Society in Germany and was awarded the Otto Hahn medal for her doctoral thesis.
Her DPhil (or PhD) was awarded summa cum laude from Oxford University.
Both her Honours and Doctoral supervisor was the late and esteemed Professor Stephen Hawking.
She was awarded a Research Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Angela O’Brien is a mathematical prodigy who is invaluable to the firm; for this reason she is co-chief technologist and also mathematician. Angela also is our head of philanthropy and in this role heads Pied Piper Charitable Trust.
William O’Brien is the mind behind our deepest mathematical insights. As well as serving as co-chief technologist and head mathematician, he has an incredible business mind honed over years of experience that he lends to his role as CEO. He currently supports the firm as a consultant based in America.
